Play Your First Game in 3 Minutes

A step-by-step guide to get started with BlastRoom in your classroom.

1

Go to blastroom.net and click "Sign Up". You can sign in with Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or email. It takes about 10 seconds.

2

Get a question set

You have two options:

  • Browse existing sets: Go to "Find Sets" in the sidebar to browse public sets by popularity, likes, or CEFR level. You can duplicate any public set to your collection and modify it.
  • Create your own: Go to "My Sets" and click "Create Set". Add a title, then add questions: multiple choice, true/false, or fill-in-the-blank. You can also import from a CSV or Excel file. Publish when ready.
3

Choose a game mode

Open any published set and click "Play". You'll choose between two categories:

  • Board Games: Teacher-led games projected on your screen. No student devices needed. Great for whole-class participation with 2–6 teams.
  • Device Games: Students join on their phones by entering a room code. Seven modes available: quizzes, races, co-op challenges, and more.

4

Start playing

For board games, the game starts immediately on your projected screen. For device games, a room code appears. Students enter it on their phone browser (no app needed, no account needed) and choose a nickname. Once enough players have joined, start the game.

Tips

  • Start with BlastQuiz for the simplest device game. It's teacher-paced, so you control the flow.
  • Board games work great even with no Wi-Fi. Everything runs in your browser.
  • The same question set works across all 12 game modes. Create once, play many ways.
  • Browse the Explore page for ready-to-play sets created by other teachers.
